Advent

Saitama is an ordinary-looking baldheaded man with a thin but well-built physique and is of boilerplate elevation and weight. He used to have a full head of brusk blackness hair but lost it due to the intensity of his hero preparation regimen.

Saitama is usually deliberately drawn in a more simplistic style than the other characters, similar to the style of the original webcomic, with an elliptical head and simple facial features. When drawn in a more serious style, Saitama is revealed to have sharp facial features, fearsome eyes, and chiseled musculature. His posture changes every bit well, with a slack posture and sloping shoulders when lax, and a straightened posture and squared shoulders when serious.

Wear

Saitama'southward hero costume consists of a yellow one-piece jumpsuit with a curt zipper at the collar and a black chugalug with a round golden buckle at its center. He wears red gloves that get iii/4 upwards his forearms and carmine boots that almost reach his knees. His costume is finished off with a white cape, which is fastened to his shoulders with big, round buttons.

Saitama owns several shirts and hoodies with various designs. This includes his:

  • Oppai (Boobies) Hoodie
  • Oppai (Boobies) T-shirt
  • Mentsuyu (Noodle Soup) T-shirt
  • Onsen (Hot Bathroom) T-shirt
  • Ke (Hair) Shirt
  • Niku 🍖 (Meat 🍖) Jacket
  • Umeboshi (Pickled Dry Plum) T-shirt
  • Nezumi Sushi (Mouse Sushi) T-shirt
  • Munage (Chest Hair) T-shirt
  • Shōyu (Soy Sauce) T-shirt
  • Shicago Burusu (Chicago Bulls) T-shirt
  • 22nd Super Fight T-shirt

Personality

" If the heroes run and hibernate, who will stay and fight? "

Saitama is an indifferent person. Fifty-fifty the mightiest foes pose no challenge to him, then he does not take his hero piece of work seriously, goes through everything with little to no effort, and yearns for an opponent that can provide him with a claiming.[11] The lack of worthy opponents has led him to endure from a self-imposed existential crisis,[4] and he claims that his ability to feel whatsoever and all emotions has dulled considerably.[12] The combination of his attitude, unstoppable ability, and "unimpressive" appearance often causes his battles to become anticlimactic. Saitama will normally allow his opponents to bluster about their motives and power upwardly into their strongest forms, before obliterating them with a single punch.[13]

Saitama gets impatient with Genos' explanation

Saitama has limited patience for long explanations, notwithstanding, and will frequently interrupt the speaker.[fourteen] [15] [16] His platonic discussion count is 20 or less.[14]

A running gag about Saitama is his inability to recall people'due south faces and names, as seen when he forgot Speed-o'-Sound Sonic's proper noun,[17] or when he could not remember who Tanktop Tiger was.[18] Because of this, he sometimes ends up pronouncing people's names incorrectly, much to their chagrin.[19]

Warning.png Expand to run across original webcomic data. Beware of spoiler content.

A more recent version of this gag is when he forgot Flashy Flash'southward proper name when he asked Saitama to fix the sword he broke.

Saitama turning the civilians against him

Saitama is very humble, as he purposefully let the masses plow against him in lodge for the defeated heroes to be given credit for their efforts against the Deep Bounding main King, even claiming that they had weakened the monster earlier his arrival.[20] He did the same for the police station, killing a monster while disguised every bit a police officer, despite potentially gaining much fame had he revealed who he actually was.[21] He besides did non mind that King took credit for all of his achievements.[22]

Some other surprising thing about Saitama is that he is very observant, insightful, and has high tactical awareness. This is seen in how he was able to discern situations and character traits from the people and environment around him adequately easily. He was able to selection up a number of hints to Sonic'due south persona upon their outset meeting.[23] When two tank meridian heroes jealously plotted to ruin him afterward the meteor event, he remarked that in that location were irate and self-serving hero types like them. He was even able to discern Fubuki's forced offering of submission or destruction just before his crackdown on how the hero earth really works than how it is currently run.[24]

Saitama has been seen to show remorse to his enemies before, particularly ones who can give him a stimulating fight and don't just go down in one hit. Ane such example of this is Boros, the self-claimed "Dominator of the Universe", with whom Saitama sympathized, due to suffering from similar circumstances. Though in the end, fifty-fifty Boros yet couldn't draw out Saitama's full ability.[25]

Saitama does not actually care if people insult him, and he usually ignores them and says that they need a hobby;[26] the just insult that could get a reaction out of him is anything pertaining to his alopecia.[27] [28] He has expressed distaste towards his officially assigned hero name, Caped Baldy. Thus, even afterwards receiving it, he always refers to himself as Saitama. He also shows a measure of concern when information technology comes to bargains and deals, as seen when he fought Carnage Kabuto, where he was more shocked upon the realization that he was going to miss a deal sale, rather than his opponent who had undergone a transformation and was beating him effectually.[29] Despite his general indifference to most things, Saitama was genuinely shocked when he realized that no one really knew of him despite his achievements, curious as to why he doesn't have whatsoever fans. This reaction demonstrates that while he isn't necessarily into hero work for fame, he certainly doesn't object to it.[thirty] Another running joke is Saitama's jealousy of higher rankings, such as when he grew irritated when Genos listed off all of the comments made past fans about how astonishing Genos is in their optics.

Saitama demonstrates impressive restraint with his ability, considering that he is easily capable of splitting the heaven or jumping from the Moon to Earth in seconds.[31] He manages to beat nearly all of his opponents with a single dial, though occasionally causes more destruction than necessary.[32] While he has no trouble killing monsters, Saitama has yet to be seen killing some other human and but ever uses plenty strength to knock them out.

Becoming a hero has always been a dream of Saitama's.[33] Earlier becoming one, he used to be frustrated most society, but like Hammerhead.[34]

Saitama motivates Glasses to become stronger

Saitama has proven to exist a good figure to other people, both heroes and villains alike. His influence fabricated Genos tranquility his revenge wishes and start focusing on training to get a skillful and potent hero.[35] [36] He has also made insecure people like Fubuki and Glasses stand up to their challenges and get better heroes.[37] Saitama also advises Male monarch to railroad train and become stiff for real, rather than being upset the latter stole credit from his battles.[38]

As Genos notes, he "attracts the strong", equally many powerful heroes and villains have taken a liking to him, and few even look upwards to him as a part model to follow.[39]

Aside from being quite a cheapskate due to his financial status, he has a greedy side seen when tried to steal bags of gold from the secret mine inside the Monster Association Headquarters and was visibly upset after accidentally dropping them downward to the bottom of an hugger-mugger ravine.[twoscore]

Abilities and Powers

" I became so powerful, no one can beat me. "

— Saitama on his forcefulness[41]

Saitama is the titular One-Punch Man and the strongest, fastest and most durable grapheme in the series. So far, no enemy has been able to injure him in whatever way, and near no enemy has been able to survive a single earnest punch from him. A few enemies have survived punches from him, such as any homo he has struck (whom he restrains himself against) and Boros, whom Saitama empathized with and held dorsum confronting then as to give himself and Boros a satisfying and stimulating fight. Saitama'due south simply power is that his body is far beyond homo limits, allowing him to reach astounding concrete feats. His strength is then great that it vastly eclipses fifty-fifty artificial beings designed or bred specifically for superhuman combat, such as mechanical beings or the mutated warriors from the House of Evolution. Since no enemies have posed whatever existent challenge to Saitama withal, the upper bound of his strength is likely even college than it currently appears. While his power is only limited to heightened human traits (he cannot fly or fire energy blasts), his superhuman abilities more compensate for the lack of diversity in his powers.

The origin of Saitama'southward immense strength is mysterious and unclear. Although he tells everyone he got his incredible power through mere concrete training, no 1 believes him at all. According to Saitama, after a yr and a one-half of 100 daily push-ups, sit down-ups, and squats, plus 10 km daily running, he had achieved some level of superhuman strength. This preparation was apparently so intense for Saitama that he at times felt he might die, and claims that information technology is what caused all of his pilus to of a sudden and eventually autumn out. Genos believes that Saitama himself doesn't really know or understand how he gained his ability, and hopes to acquire the underground by sparring with and observing him, while Dr. Genus believes that Saitama worked out with said training regimen so hard that he had removed his Limiter. It should be noted that Saitama would complete all parts of the training 1 after the other without breaks and was contesting monsters that appeared during that fourth dimension, which would have made completing the training more intense than it would normally be expected.

Genos beating Saitama in an eating contest

Despite his unbelievable physical prowess, Saitama tin can be outperformed by people with skills in areas exterior fighting, like when he was bested by Bang in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors or defeated by King in video games, mostly in one-sided matches.[42] [43] Furthermore, he also seems to possess a normal man appetite, as he lost to Genos in a spicy noodle eating contest.[44]

Physical Abilities

Saitama destroys a punching automobile during the Hero Association entrance exam

Unparalleled Strength: Saitama possesses seemingly limitless physical strength and is capable of effortlessly defeating powerful monsters and villains with a single, nonchalant punch (although this force is non limited to punches). His punches are and then powerful that many monsters only explode when struck. An case of this casual, all the same overwhelming offensive ability occurs when Saitama launches himself from the top of a building, blasts right through a giant falling star with a punch, lands safely, and only calmly decides to become home.[45] Another instance is when Sonic tries to attack Saitama with a sword, merely he stops the sword past catching it with his teeth, effortlessly shattering the blade with the power of his jaw.[46] When launched from Globe to the moon past Boros, he used his jumping ability to return to Earth in mere moments, causing a huge stupor moving ridge and immense tremors on the surface of the moon upon divergence, as well as on Boros's transport upon landing.[47] A "normal" punch from him was shown to be very fatal, even to someone every bit durable as Boros.[48] A single "serious" punch from him was able to counter the latter'due south strongest attack, Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, an attack capable of wiping out the unabridged planet's surface. Not only Saitama completely negated Boros' final set on using his serious punch, but the shockwave from the punch was also powerful plenty to part clouds on a global calibration.[49] Saitama besides states that he can elevator and carry an entire shipping carrier.[50] Additionally, he is capable of destroying the Earth if he wanted to.[51] His strength has been stated by numerous characters to defy reason.[52] [53] [54]

Saitama jumps off the moon

Enhanced Bound: Saitama'southward inability to fly is somewhat compensated by his immense leg forcefulness, assuasive him to leap tremendous heights/distances at high speeds. This tin be seen when Saitama smashed his head through the ceiling of a tall gymnasium during the hero tryouts simply by jumping.[55] He was also able to boom a building into its foundation just past leaping off from its roof.[56] His greatest feat in this regard, nonetheless, was when he leaped from the surface of the moon and ended up back on Earth in seconds at a specified bespeak, leaving a crater on the moon's surface in the procedure.[57] He is also able to leap while still in the air, adjusting his angle of ascent or descent thanks to his amazing power.[58]
Shockwave Generation: As shown in his practice tour with Genos, Saitama can control and direct his power in the class of a massive daze wave that comes from his punches. He uses this to evidence Genos a glimpse of his true power, but stops it before actually punching Genos, with the shockwave from the attack completely annihilating an entire cliffside behind him.[59]

Saitama dodging Genos's attack

Unparalleled Speed and Reflexes: Saitama possesses unparalleled speed and reflexes. No other character has been shown to be faster than him thus far. He was able to consummate a 1500 meter dash in an instant during his hero tryouts.[60] He has proven able to effortlessly keep up with Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who can motility at above hypersonic speeds.[61] Even Genos's computerized targeting systems have difficulty tracking him.[62] Saitama has also shown the power to run down a building to save a piece of salmon he was having for luncheon, and leap back up said building without bystanders noticing he had even done and then.[63] His speed is and then impressive that he can even outpace Flashy Flash, an Southward-Class hero well-known for his unmatched speed, easily dodging his sword swings and communicable his ultimate technique.[64] When kicked to the moon past Boros, Saitama was able to return to Earth in mere seconds which suggests that he tin even travel at sub-relativistic speeds. In improver, he was capable of easily reacting to and blocking Geryuganshoop's well-nigh lightspeed rocks, the speed of which being similar a bad joke to him.[65] Ironically, despite his incomparable reflexes and speed, he even so has bug squashing a elementary mosquito.[66]

Saitama creating countless afterimages

Afterimage Creation: Saitama's speed allows him to create afterimages of himself. He first used this during his training bout with Genos.[68] He was as well able to create endless afterimages via his Serious Side Hops during his fight with Speed-o'-Audio Sonic.[69]
Supernatural Dexterity: Saitama is capable of moving any of his limbs at extremely fast speeds without flinching, not stopping until his target is completely obliterated. This is seen when Saitama flawlessly whacks all moles on a Whack-A-Mole machine during the Hero Association exam.[70]
Supernatural Agility: Saitama has been shown to be perfect at dodging and able to perform highly acrobatic maneuvers. Saitama's reflexes render him flexible enough to movement through the narrowest creeks and dodge attacks at the closest proximity.[71] [72] Saitama is also able to perform parkour, which he tin couple with fighting movements, as shown in his flashbacks.[73]
Water Running: Saitama is capable of running across bounding main high-speed without going into the the surface of water.[74]

Immense Stamina: Saitama has never been shown to tire out when fighting enemies. Even when unleashing a punch more powerful than a planet-destroying assault, Saitama showed no signs of fatigue.[75] The only time in which Saitama was shown to be panting and out of jiff from continuous running, he recovered just seconds afterwards.[76]

Supernatural Senses: Saitama'south senses are far beyond the human norm. He possesses impressively sharp hearing, being able to selection upward on various chatter from bystanders a proficient altitude abroad even while fighting monsters and the like.[77] He can even hear telephone transmissions with well enough accuracy to guess conversation and the contents of its dialogue.[78]

Saitama is also able to see in the dark, equally he was able to spot a kid a great distance abroad during the night. His tracking capability is also amazing, equally he can concentrate on a fast-moving object for a long fourth dimension and nonetheless not lose sight of it, as seen when he was the only person to run across where Garou escaped to.[79]

Invulnerability: Saitama tin withstand blows from extremely powerful beings such as Carnage Kabuto and even Boros without suffering any injury or feeling any hurting.[80] In fact, no character has really been able to damage, or even physically harm Saitama in whatsoever way. When Genos created a huge, spherical blast of flame to kill Musquito Girl's mosquitoes, Saitama remains standing right next to him completely unharmed, unperturbed and very dingy (though his apparel were burnt).[81] He too survived being kicked to the moon by Boros in his fully powered state, and going from the Globe to the moon and back with no harm from leaving and entering the Earth's atmosphere (just his clothes were slightly burnt). He fifty-fifty survived the harsh conditions of outer space unscathed during his brief fourth dimension on the moon.[82] It has been shown that, despite the dangers of belongings 1's breath in space, Saitama tin can practise so with no negative effects on his torso.

Saitama also prefers to contrivance or block attacks using edged weapons, rather than take them head-on, equally he sometimes does with strikes from fists or blunt objects. However, when he does accept them dead-on, the object ordinarily breaks or is destroyed, as was the case of Speed-o'-Sound Sonic'due south sword. Nyan'due south superpowered claw scratches, which can cutting buildings in half, were also shown to have no effect against Saitama's head.

Immense Psychic Resistance: Fubuki noted that Saitama is extremely resistant to whatever psychic attacks due to his amazing willpower.[83]
It is noteworthy to know that his muscles merely "twitched" when Tatsumaki used her psychic powers on him and that she wasn't able to keep Saitama upwards in the air for more a few seconds because he was "too heavy".[67] This demonstrates that Saitama is not completely immune to the effects of psychokinesis.

Saitama holding his breath on the moon with no difficulty

Enhanced Lung Capacity: Although Saitama cannot breathe in space, he has considerable command over his jiff. Even in outer space, Saitama manages to hold his jiff effortlessly, and he even made a jump back to the Earth from the Moon in seconds with no signs of suffocation.[84]

Saitama submerging in lava with no problem

Temperature Resistance: Saitama is extremely resistant to all types of temperature-based attacks. When Genos created a huge, spherical smash of flame to incinerate Mosquito Daughter's mosquitoes, Saitama remained standing next to the cyborg unperturbed and completely unharmed (although his clothes were burnt to a crisp).[86] He was also able to withstand Withered Sprout'due south freezing attacks, which were capable of incapacitating 1 C-Course hero, one B-Class hero and i A-Form hero with ease. The attacks were and so stiff that the A-Class hero Smile Human thought them to exist on par with the likes of a Dragon-level monster.[87] Saitama is also capable of submerging himself in lava with no trouble, viewing information technology equally a overnice hot tub.[88] This ability can be attributed to Saitama refusing to use either the air conditioner or heater during his training.

Hurting Suppression: Before gaining his overwhelming ability, Saitama was still able to suppress pain.[89] [32] This has been shown on numerous occasions dating all the manner back to his days equally a middle school student, taking a beating from ii upperclassmen and, afterward, a Wolf-Level monster Piggy Bancon. He then got dorsum up when the bullies could not and chased afterwards the monster for his money.[90] Other like feats include taking strikes from Crablante and Personification Of A Light Pull String during his preparation as an adult among others.

Accelerated Development: Nigh a year into his training regiment, Saitama noted that every bit a consequence of his repetitive routine, his body had adapted to "moving like a hero should",[32] and his power began to explode at a rapid rate. In no time at all, he reached unparalleled levels of strength, speed, and durability through this regiment, a attestation to his growth rate; yet, co-ordinate to Genos, Saitama himself cannot explicate the secret backside his own strength, and the cyborg believes that he should not have become that unbelievably powerful with just that level of training.[91]

Fighting Style

Practiced Manus-to-Paw Combatant: Despite having no formal training, Saitama is a proficient and adept hand-to-hand combatant. Cheers to many fights with monsters and villains during his preparation, he's presumably got a fair amount of fighting experience and developed a good deal of fighting skills. Due to his immeasurable power and boredom, he usually does not care about technique and makes apply of flawed basic attacks. His fighting style is, different the likes of Garou, Bang, Bomb and Suiryu, quite simple but solid when backed with his absolute strength. He is also able to skillfully combine his superhuman abilities to overwhelm his opponents and even utilise the surroundings effectually him to his benefit.[ commendation needed ]

He besides uses karate chops,[92] and grappling moves to accept downwardly villains he doesn't want to impale, or just to knock out people who option on him.

Some of these instances are with his Serious Table Flip [93] and his Serious Headbutt.[94]

Supernatural Accurateness: Saitama seems to have almost perfect precision since whatsoever time he focuses on a target, he always strikes it. He is able to turn a rock into a mortiferous projectile that hits its target, as shown when he killed Geryuganshoop. He also had no trouble landing direct on Boros's ship from the moon, even though the angle to return to World was extremely small, leaving very little room for error.

Normal Series: Saitama's Normal Series consists of techniques in which he puts very piffling endeavour into attacking. Even though his attacks are loose in this style, most opponents tend to be finished off easily due to Saitama'southward tremendous forcefulness and speed.

  • Normal Dial (普通のパンチ, Futsū no Panchi): Saitama punches his opponent. Even though Saitama puts very trivial to no effort into his punch, it is still strong enough to kill almost every opponent, including Dragon-Level threats, blowing apart their bodies, burdensome their skulls and basic or even beheading them. When facing humans withal, Saitama holds dorsum profoundly, merely using enough strength to knock them out.

Saitama using Serious Punch

  • Serious Punch (マジ殴り, Maji Naguri): Saitama throws an extremely powerful punch. The total extent of this attack is unknown, as information technology has never directly striking an opponent. It was so powerful that it completely negated Boros'southward Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, a beam capable of wiping out an unabridged planet.[99] The shock wave from the dial alone was powerful enough to part the clouds on a global scale, equally well as deliver the terminal fatal blow to Boros. The dying Boros also declared that Saitama's fatal attack on him was not even anywhere near Saitama'southward true ability and that Saitama was nonetheless holding back.[100] Saitama too used this movement to completely annihilate and disintegrate Elder Centipede, a Dragon-level threat and one of the biggest monsters in the series.[101] When used against Evil Natural Water, who has become one with the sea, he was able to dissipate its class and split up the bounding main with his power.[102]
  • Serious Side Hops (マジ反復横とび, Maji Hanpukuyokotobi; Viz: Serious Sideways Jumps): Saitama rapidly hops from side to side, creating a wall of afterimages. He is able to walk forward while doing so, and the shock waves acquired by it were enough to easily render unconscious Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, even with his 10 afterimages.[103]

He proves this many times by reading people like Fubuki and Glasses. He also speedily finds out well-nigh King's lie but decides to keep it a clandestine. However, he is usually good at this but when he gets serious.

Indomitable Volition: Saitama has been shown to possess incredible willpower. It is almost evident in the flashback to his hero training authorities. Even if he was in cracking pain, or could barely move, or vomited blood, he continued his grooming.[107] Through sheer willpower and effort, Saitama removed his natural limiter, becoming an invincible hero.

Saitama enters the Phoenix Space

Non-Physical Interaction: One instance of his strength defying normal logic is when he broke a pigsty into the Phoenix Space, a spiritual realm that only exists within Phoenix Man'south bird costume, past just knocking on it. This suggests that Saitama can fifty-fifty interact with things that are intangible/not-physical.[108]
